Wear to Work Day 3: Leather Panels & Bold Angles

Clothes for work don't have to be boring or drab. Try a bold dress with leather panels to give your professional look an elevated appeal. The leather panels alone give this dress (H&M) an edge that says, not only do you know how to dress, but that you also look sophisticated.
Like I mentioned before, check with your job to confirm what the dress code standards are. I wore a shirt under this dress, so that I 1. didn't have to cover it with a blazer  and 2. so that I stay work appropriate by covering my shoulders. You can also add hosiery to this look. Try a colored pair of tights or a angular print. Both will amplify the look and keep your outfit to work appropriate standards according to your job.
Leather trim and panels are trending quite a bit in the wear to work world. How are you going to wear a bold dress or leather career look? Make sure that you pay attention to fit and always confirm that the bold angles are flattering to your body.

Mixing Leather & Lace

This weekend I went to an outdoor art event in Dana Point called Elephant Parade. I got to see different life-size Asian elephant statues painted by artists, dignitaries, and celebrities. What I absolutely love about this event is that it helps raise money to support Elephants and spread global awareness of the issues affecting these mammals.

After wandering the Elephant Parade, I walked around and explored some gorgeous spots of Dana Point. So... I couldn't help but include a little bit of the parade and local scenery in this post.

For this look I mixed a leather a-line tank (Nordstrom, Savvy) over a lace shirt (Nordstrom, BP), and midi tube skirt (Nordstrom, Savvy). I accessorized it with some statement earrings (Forever 21), a gold cuff (Nordstrom, BP), and leather strapped booties (Target). I love playing with different textures when I style. You should try it out too!
