A little of this, a little of that...

Pattern mixing doesn't always have to be so obvious. Here I paired a sheer white flowered lace with polka dot pants (Target). The reason this works for this look is the lace is not as bold of a print and matches with the white polka dots on the pants. Try to keep the your color story within 3 colors when mixing prints. I added the black pieces and bright lip to help make the look POP.

I've also been asked to show how I would style a sheer shirt over a bralette. I found this new Savvy top from (Nordstrom) and thought it would be the perfect opportunity to blog my sheer flowered lace. When wearing a sheer lace top you can go one of  two ways... go bold or keep it simple. Here I went bold by adding a dark bralette underneath my lace rather than a white or nude. How will you pattern mix or wear your sheer lace tops? Whatever you do, just have fun with it!

All about them Overalls!

Its day 2 of stripes for this week! Overalls have been a fashion trend that even I have repeated from my past. I use to wear them all the time in middle school and now I am wearing them again. It's kind of fun reinventing a new way to wear something you once wore before.

I decided that I would wear my overalls (Nordstrom) with an off the shoulder cropped stripe top (Target) for this post. I added a leather jacket, some ankle strap wedges, and lip color to pull the look all together. I kept the look fairly simple and let the stripes and overalls speak for themselves.

How will you wear stripes with overalls? Or just overalls? Give them a chance, you might find that it's a trend you can bring back too.

When a Bow Tie Meets Stripes

This week is going to be all about stripes and I decided to kick the week off with a little bow tie and some stripe combo.

Depending on your workplace, this can also be a good wear to work option. Add a blazer and a longer skirt, if your work requires a more conservative look. For my look here, I wore a button up striped blouse (Forever 21) with black shorts (Nordstrom), bow tie (Dad's closet), ankle strapped heels (Forever 21), and gold jewelry (Nordstrom).

Keep posted for more stripes this week!
